The Investigation
Missing Evidence & Secrecy
When looking for answers, investigators usually rely on physical evidence and transparent data. In the case of WTC 7, both were hard to find.
The “Insider” Issue
Conflict of Interest?
The investigation wasn’t conducted by an independent body. It was run by NIST, which is a government agency under the Department of Commerce. This raised immediate questions about potential conflicts of interest.
The Missing Evidence
Recycled Before Analysis
Typically, forensic teams painstakingly analyze debris. In this case, the steel from WTC 7 was rapidly removed from the scene and shipped off to be melted down for recycling before a proper forensic investigation could even take place.
The “Black Box”
Data Refused
When independent researchers asked to see the computer data NIST used to create their “fire collapse” model, NIST said no. They refused to release the input data, claiming that making it public “might jeopardize public safety.”
