Lesson 1: Nazi Architects
A Cleaned-Up History
Experts estimate that 20,000 slave laborers died building V2 rockets at the Mittelwerk factory. That is more people than were actually killed by the weapon itself in London. The men in charge of this mass death didn’t go to jail. Instead, they went to Disney World, appeared on TV, and ran the Kennedy Space Center.
The Father of the Space Program
1. Director Wernher von Braun
- NASA Job: He was the Director of the Marshall Space Flight Center and the main architect of the Saturn V moon rocket.
- Nazi Background: He was a Major in the SS. He didn’t just draw blueprints. He personally picked slave laborers from the Buchenwald concentration camp to build his rockets.
- Tombstone Clue: Von Braun is the father of the space program, but his tombstone doesn’t mention rockets or the moon. It references only one thing: Psalms 19:1.
Theory: Did the man who built the rockets know there was a barrier called a “Firmament” that we couldn’t break?
“I aim at the stars, but sometimes I hit London.” — Satirical quote by Braun
The Enforcer
2. Arthur Rudolph
NASA Job: Project Director of the Saturn V program. NASA even gave him the Distinguished Service Medal.
Nazi Background: Operations Director at the Mittelwerk factory. He was the guy directly responsible for the daily work quotas of the slave laborers.
Final Years: In 1984, long after the moon landing, the Department of Justice finally caught up with him. Instead of facing a trial for war crimes, he gave up his U.S. citizenship and ran back to Germany. The man who put America on the moon was a war criminal on the run.
The “Father of Space Medicine”
3. Doctor Hubertus Strughold
NASA Job: He designed the pressure suits and life support systems for the Gemini and Apollo missions. The Air Force even named a library after him.
Nazi Background: He was a researcher at the Dachau concentration camp. His experiments involved freezing prisoners, putting them in air pressure vacuums, and cutting off their oxygen to see how long it took them to die.
Sad Truth: The safety rules for American astronauts were built on data taken from tortured prisoners.
The Launch Master
4. Kurt Debus
NASA Job: He was the first Director of the Kennedy Space Center. He was the man who gave the final “Go” for launch.
Nazi Background: He was a dedicated Nazi who wore his SS uniform to work. He was known for turning other scientists over to the secret police if they weren’t loyal enough to Hitler.
How Paperclip Worked
Truman’s Order
President Truman specifically ordered that intelligence agencies could not hire active Nazi supporters.
Intelligence Loophole
The Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency realized the scientists they wanted were all active Nazis.
The Solution
They removed the reports about SS memberships. Then they attached a clean background check to the front of the folder with a paperclip.
The Implication
The men who built the Apollo program were masters of propaganda and “Super Weapons.” They didn’t care about exploration; they cared about dominance.
“If the foundation of NASA is built on lies, war crimes, and rewritten history, we have to ask a hard question. Why should we assume the result of their work, the Moon Landing, was honest?”
The organization was born in a lie & this is just the beginning of it.
